My security system is a few years old. My entry sensors have always lit up blue and chimed when I open the door. Here recently the base stopped chiming. I thought it was an issue with the sensors, so I replaced the batteries in them. It didn't help. I think you may be missing the issue. If the system is turned off, the entry sensors do work properly and announce when a door is opened, so it appears that the sensors are working properly. However, when I set the system to "Home", and open a door, the chime no longer rings, nor does the system announce which door has been opened.
