I own a 2009 drz400sm, stock carb/ dj jet kit, stock cams, full yoshi rs-2, K&N with 3x3 mod. Ive been needing a ring job so I've opted for a cylinder works 434 big bore kit.Gently turn the fuel screw all the way in. Now back it out two turns. Start the bike and fully warm it up, go for a 10 minute ride. Set the idle knob to speed to 1,500~1,800 RPM as best you can (I know, without a tach this is tough, just set it to were it idles relatively smoothly). Once warmed, slow the idle speed (knob) to the lowest possible ...The stock carb jetted with jd jet kit is plenty with 3x3 mod. I don't see spending the extra money to buy a different carb. I 3x3 my box and jetted my carb with jd kit and put a full fmf on over a year ago and I have never had a problem. It's plenty of more power and1) Install an air fuel mixture screw adjuster and fine tune carb. 2) Re-check valve clearance. 3) I never changed the coolant liquid. I read somewhere this needn't to be changed and there are other peeps changing it frequently. I'll change it anyway as it's cheap and won't hurt. 4) Install PC fans with a manual switch.
